TOUR

Anlaby is a destination steeped in history and blissful tranquility.

With heritage-listed gardens, historical architecture and sweeping rural vistas, visitors are welcome to enjoy guided tours of the Anlaby gardens and the homestead every Wednesday and Sunday from 10 am. To experience Anlaby, the tour runs for close to three hours, including a Devonshire tea.

The house

The house tour of the principal rooms includes; the dining room, drawing room and library.

Catch a sneak peek into the life of the servants when Anlaby was operating as one of the great South Australian rural homes of the Edwardian era. The butler’s pantry, scullery and kitchen give an insight into how a house like Anlaby depended on a retinue of domestic staff.

GARDEN

Stroll among the 10 acres of formal gardens that once employed 13 gardeners

Included in the tour are, the terraced lawns, rose gardens, peacock house, shade house, glass house, camellia house and walled vegetable garden and marvel at the amazing trees in the Anlaby heritage listed tree collection.
